Spicy Prosciutto Spread

As the trend of charcuterie boards remains on the rise, as does the need for new and inventive meats and cheeses to add to them – well, this one is sure to be a hit. This spicy prosciutto spread combines calabrian chiles, garlic, tomato paste, spices, and of course prosciutto and transforms it into a delicious spread ready to be enjoyed by all! 

Ingredients

4-6 Calabrian Chiles

3 Garlic Cloves

2 tsp Onion Powder

1/2 tsp Paprika

4-5 pieces of Prosciutto

1-2 Tbsp Tomato Paste

1/2 tsp Pepper

Pinch of (dried) Oregano

Instructions

Step 1

De-seed your calabrian chiles and add them to a food processor with your tomato paste, garlic, onion powder, pepper, paprika, and oregano

Step 2

Blend your mixture until it turns into a paste, being sure to scrape down the sides as needed (this may take 3 – 4 rounds)

Step 3

Add in prosciutto and continue to blend until everything comes together (you may have to untangle your prosciutto from the blades and scrape down the sides, which may take another 3 – 4 rounds)

Step 4 (Optional)

Add a drizzle of confit garlic oil, olive oil, or another oil of your choice and blend until combined

Step 5

You can wrap this mixture in plastic wrap for it to form a log, spread it out, or simply dollop it on to bare areas on your board for serving 

Serve!

Serve this spread with crostini, crackers, cheese, etc… and enjoy as this become your new favorite spread!
